The challenge of a promo kit...

I have now finished my first term of my music study, and over my holiday I have the lovely assignment to make a promo kit. This is for management class, but is also supposed to be something we can use in our aspiring musical careers.
Now, this really turns into a challenge when you don't really have 'your sound' figured out, don't have any decent recordings of yourself, and in the only decent pictures you've got you're wearing a wedding dress...
Well, luckily, one of my ywam friends who happen to be in the area is a great photographer, so at least I've go my 'artsy' pictures taken. One down...

What now??

The re-invention is upon us!

I made a website and tried doing a blog thing on it...it didn't work so well. So I have now decided to pick back up my old blog (this one), but to re-invent it.
This will now become my blog connected to my website - displaying me as Mari Slack; the artist.
I will write about this new journey I have started on, share my lyrics and thoughts, hoping for a bit of feedback on my work. Hopefully I will soon have some recordings as well, which you can find on my website. And by 'soon' I mean that I have no idea when it'll happen, but I hope it won't be too long.

Until then,
Keep laughing - it's like inner jogging

The never updating updater is back!!

...that would be me...

sooo....I'm sick, and it's BORING!!!

We just got an assignment in class called 'personal discipleship/life plan'. And it's pretty much an assignment to help us figure out what we want for our lives, where we feel God is leading us, and how to get there. One of the tasks in the assignment is to write a list of 20 things you want to do before you die. It's a fun thing to do, really, because most of us already have this kind of list floating around in our minds, but never write it out. If we do, my guess is that we'll achieve more of our life goals. We'll get further in life if we have goals, so why not solidify them, and start pursuing them?

So, I guess that's more an encouragement to do something than an update, but hey, it's my blog! I can do what ever I want! moahahahahaaa!!!! ....

Another thing that might make you laugh...Apparently it's now illegal in Great Britain to cremate bodies with silicon breasts, because they might explode...
...I'm sorry if that offended you, but I think it's funny. Sad, but funny.

Chao!

.......

So...I realized my blog has died... It's pretty sad, really. And now I've only got one hand to type with, due to a cooking accident... Lesson learned: Knives are dangerous!!!...

Seriously, he is the most gorgeous little kid I've ever seen!!! I'll post pictures some time in the future.

Blessings!

The most beautiful girl in the planet...

Well, for a week now Mari has been down south in Stranda, while I am up on her family farm learning what it means to be a Norwegian farmer... If you didn't guess, this is Mari's fiance Jon.

She hinted to me that I should update this for her, since she isn't able to right now (... and besides, probably wouldn't anyway)

This gives me a nice little oppotunity to tell all of you (whoever you may be) that Mari truly is the most beautiful girl on the planet. Actaully, that's putting it lightly. See, when God created the heavens and the earth and all that other stuff, He said it was good. Then He made stars and planets and said they were good. Then He made fish and birds and said they were good. Then He made some animals and said they were good.... note the progression - things are getting more and more interesting, as if He is building towards something. He starts of pretty big, creating space (which I am told is pretty large). Then stars and all that, again pretty big.

Then He starts getting a little more complicated - I've never tried making a tree, but I imagine that would be a lot of work. And then, making a cow... Dang, that must be a whole heap of work.

So, then he moves onto man. And He does a really fine job!!! So good that this time He says what He made was very good....
However, He didn't make both man and woman at the first time. He made Adam before He made Eve. Why? Same reason why He made trees before cows. He started with something good, and then moved on to something better.

Or, in other words, Eve was the best thing that God to possibly think up. She was God's greatest idea. As John Eldridge says, she is the Crown of Creation.

So, bringing that back to Mari... God has been working at it for years and years now, so He has had a whole heap of practice. Looking at Mari, and I can't help but think that when she was born God was saying to Himself... 'DANG!!! This one is good'!!!

Or, in other words, Mari truly is the most beautiful thing that God could possibly think up!!!! Oh, and I love her so, so much!!!!

So, there you go, I'm madly in love with Mari and am so excited to spend the rest of my life with her!!!

God bless y'all

Jon

Top ten...something.....??

I got the tip to make top ten lists on my blog. But if I were to write a top ten list, what would I do it on?? The many books I own but never read? You know, I could include some I made it half way through...
Maybe music! ...well, no...I like too many different styles of music for that. I would only have a heap of 1's.

Top ten actors?? HAHAAA!!! I don't even know the names of half of the actors from the movies I own!! (And that's actually not many at all!)

Top ten foods?? Weell...not like that would be very interesting...

So, I'm not sure this top ten list idea is the best for me...

Dang, this blog turned out boring...oh well...I could put in a picture! Here you go.

I miss Darjeeling!!!! Take me back there!!! These kids were SO awesome!!

Well, that's all.

Later!
